Forever Wakefulness Of The Weak
Sep. 13th, 2010 07:37 pmFor the second time since i started this journal i'm having problems hosting my icons.
First i used photobucket, but that couldn't handle the bandwidth they were using (the few icons i do still have hosted there are being hotlinked to myspace a lot. Annoying.)
Second i used filebox.me, which was a lovely and simple little site that did me really well until a few days ago when it pretty much completely shut down overnight. I managed to contact the creator and it turns out it's a 16 year old kid who can't afford to keep it open! Wow. I can't be mad at him.
But this does leave me with the dilemma of having about 1,500 icons to re-home.
Sigh.
At the minute it's looking like tinypic will be the place, as that's where i host the spiffy numbers for my icons and i've never had any problems with them. Though yesterday i did have a few issues with tinypic randomly deciding to switch out some images i had uploaded for others which were definitely not mine, such as a photo of a Garfield dvd? It all seems sorted now, but i'm still waiting on a reply to my rather stress-filled email about what the hell happened.
ANYWAY, to get to the point(s):
1. Does anyone have any suggestions of free image hosting websites that allow direct linking and no bandwidth limits? Preferably that will accept .png images without converting them to .jpg?
2. It will take me a good while to re-upload all the icons. I will try to do at least one entry a day, but please bear with me.
